Research team
Associate Professor Maja Klindžić has collaborated on numerous national scientific projects. She is the author and co-author of many scientific papers and chapters in scientific books related to human resources management. In 2013, 2014, and 2016, she undertook training at Tel Aviv University, Israel, in advanced statistical methods. In 2014, she was invited to a one-semester training programme at the New University of Lisbon, Portugal. In 2017, she trained at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain, in advanced statistical methods.
Her core competencies include conducting scientific research and statistical data processing, as well as extensive knowledge of corporate ecology, with particular emphasis on human resources management practices that promote environmentally responsible work behaviour and environmental preservation.
Associate Professor Vanja Krajinović primarily researches the sustainable development of tourism destinations. In the contemporary context, this field is closely linked to the issues and challenges of adapting tourism destinations to climate change. Over the past five years, she has focused her interests specifically on this topic, particularly from the perspective of policies and strategies at the destination level. As part of a project funded by Leeds Beckett University, Associate Professor Krajinović was a member of an international research team, with the focus on strategies for adapting destinations to climate change. This research was conducted in Gorski Kotar. Previously, similar research was conducted in the destination of Mali Lošinj. The results of this research are presented and discussed in papers published in leading tourism journals. She also participated as a speaker at a workshop entitled "Strengthening the Resilience of Tourism to Climate Change," organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia.
Based on her previous research, Associate Professor Krajinović has gained valuable knowledge and experience that enable her to understand the specifics and challenges of climate change adaptation, especially from the perspective of supply-side entities in the tourism market. She has experience in project implementation through active participation in several national and European research projects. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Acta Turistica.
Danijel Mlinarić is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb, and president of the Centre for Economic Diplomacy. In 2008, he graduated with a thesis in "Approximate Calculation of the Inverse Matrix of Technology" as one of the top 10% of students in his generation. In 2012, he completed the SPDS "Financial Institutions and Markets". He earned his PhD in 2015 from the University of Zagreb in the field of banking. In 2020, he graduated from the Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
He represents the Republic of Croatia in the Balkan Economic Forum. Since 2016, he has been a permanent court expert in finance, accounting, banking, property valuation, and company valuation. He has undertaken training in Austria, Spain, France, Greece, Poland, Malaysia, India, Portugal, and China. He is a leader and collaborator on several scientific and professional projects. He founded and lectures on the course Economic Diplomacy at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb. He has taught in Mexico, Kazakhstan, Argentina, North Macedonia, Colombia, and Chile, as well as in various domestic public and private institutions. He is a member of the programme and editorial boards of several international scientific conferences. He is the author of more than 30 scientific papers and a reviewer for many domestic and foreign scientific and professional journals. Together with his associates, he has won the "Mijo Mirković" award at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and has received numerous international scholarships. In his free time, he is a passionate skier and enjoys tennis and mountaineering.
Associate Professor Antonio Vlahov contributed to the development of the Strategic Development Plan of the Municipality of Medulin 2007–2013 and participated in professional projects for the preparation of feasibility studies for several small family hotels, as well as for the project "Terme Lipik – health and tradition". He regularly takes part in numerous workshops and training sessions related to the use of EU funds in the field of tourism. In 2023, he participated in the City of Šibenik's Regional Science Centre RaSTEM project, and in 2024/2025 he was engaged as an associate on the project "Development of autonomous robots to increase the efficiency of processes and the organisation of activities in nautical marinas" (project leader: Marina Punat d.o.o.). In May 2018, he visited the Universidad de Quintana Roo, Chetumal, Mexico, as part of the ERASMUS+ programme.
Associate Professor Antonio Vlahov's core competencies include conducting research and understanding the specifics of the tourism system in the Republic of Croatia, with particular emphasis on the accommodation industry and financing options for entrepreneurial projects. He publishes papers in scientific journals and at international scientific conferences, and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals and conferences.
Associate Professor Dominik Vuletić collaborates on several international and national scientific projects. He is the author of numerous scientific papers and several books, and has participated in many international scientific conferences. His research interests include Law of the European Union, Law and Economics, Competition (Anitrust) Law, International Trade Law, Corporate Law and Legal theory. He is a member of the European Law Institute (ELI) in Wienna and was a member of the European Affairs Committee of the Croatian Parliament (Hrvatski sabor).
His core competencies include expertise in international regulations and Law of the European Union law, with climate change adaptation strategies relying heavily on EU policies. Given the sensitivity and specificity of the research area, Associate Professor Dominik Vuletić will contribute throughout the project by defining practices and verifying that the proposed adaptation strategies comply with legal regulations at the European level. He has also received additional training at TEPSA (Trans European Policy Studies Association) in Brussels, the University of Cologne, and Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis.
